The ATMs of New Orleans: The Backstory
Hundreds of years ago while working as a creative director in the advertising business, I was exposed to a wonderfully designed poster called “The Doors of Dublin,” which (then, and in subsequent years) inspired dozens of imitation knockoff posters. (Note: the original poster is still being offered today online and in bookstores in Dublin, Ireland.)
The idea for “The Doors of Dublin” poster has always stuck with me, but I was never able to come up with a concept that would let me produce something similar…until I was walking the streets of New Orleans with my camera and Elvis appeared with 8 tiny reindeer and said, “Hey, remember The Doors of Dublin poster you like so much…why not do an ATMs of New Orleans poster based on the same design?” Elvis also gave me the answer to ending global conflict and finally achieving world peace, but in the excitement of the new poster concept, I completely forgot what his solution for world peace was.
On a more serious note, the poster is also available for sale in New Orleans at the New Orleans Healing Center and (in the near future) at one or two other non-profit organizations as well as at some bookstores and art galleries/design stores. A list of specific locations and addresses will be forthcoming on the actual order page.
And thanks in advance for liking/buying the poster.
Remember, these posters also make great wedding, birthday, anniversary, holiday gifts.
